The objective is to catch 52 playing cards descending from the top of the screen, where players must select either all picture cards or all cards from a designated suit (spades, diamonds, clubs, or hearts). This is done by pressing the appropriate button on the right side of the screen or rejecting unwanted cards by tapping the left side swiftly. Maximizing your score involves a strategic approach, capturing the required cards as close to the bottom of the screen as possible while efficiently discarding irrelevant ones.

While Catch 52 does not utilize Voice Over, it remains fully accessible to users. It is advisable to disable Voice Over prior to initiating gameplay by pressing the Start button located at the top left of the screen.

The game is designed for portrait orientation and utilizes intuitive gestures for adjusting settings. A single tap with two fingers silences any speech output, while two taps with two fingers will repeat the verbal instructions provided. Additionally, three taps with two fingers allow players to toggle between difficulty levels or adjust game speed. There are two primary screens: the game screen and a game over screen, which appears after three missed cards or once a complete deck has been played. On the game over screen, a single tap on either side reveals game center standings, and a swipe up allows players to return to ongoing gameplay.
